Change: The Only Constant Thing.

Hey guys,

       How is the day going? Hope well.I’m super excited because guess what? #drumrolls# it’s TGIF! Did I hear somebody scream? Lol. This weekend, it’ll be me and my bed alone, without any interference. Although I can’t count the number of times I’ve said this and still find myself working on a weekend. Smh! I doubt if this will be any different. Anyways, this is my fifth post in a row, and I’m freaking out in a good way. We are making progress. Thanks to you for taking a step to visit my blog. It gives me a lot of encouragement and I’m grateful for that.

So, while I was deep in my thinking mode, I got an inspiration concerning this blog. It’s very important that you all know what it is because in the end, it’s about you, the reader.

So here is what it is, if you have been following this blog consistently or maybe you just checked once, you’ll notice that something has changed. I wish I could throw the question “what”? But never mind, I’ll tell you. The name changed from ‘Chronicles of ABARA' to 'The Ambitious Spirit'. It wasn’t random, this is how I came about that name.

Yesterday, as I was at the bus station, waiting for a cab aka danfo to take me home, I encountered the funniest thing ever. Buses weren’t forthcoming and so the crowd at the station kept increasing by the seconds. I was gradually getting bitter and frustrated at the whole situation until a bus finally drove in and I saw this:

You will think that with all the frustration inside of me, I too would join in the flux. But I couldn’t. Rather I held on to my phone to get this picture taken as I was laughing helplessly. This is why I love Lagos to be honest, "it’s full of activity and drama, there’s no dull moment”, I thought.  The rest of the story is that I couldn’t compete with this crowd full of urgent and angry Nigerians, so I soughted for a more convenient means.

It started from the road, when I was in the car, ruminating about what I want to achieve with this whole blog idea. Did some research, read articles, just everything a young person does to get an answer. And gbam! One word stuck in my head. Exactly what I wanted to define my personality and the stories I’ll tell, it was Ambition.

Of course it didn’t end there, I had to turn it into a good phrase that clearly states my mission in this business, the core of every news or detail that I post, and there it goes, I found it! 'THE AMBITIOUS SPIRIT'. We all are ambitious, but in different capacities. If I begin to tell you what I want to be in this life I probably won’t finish till the next day and the next, till it goes on and on. I read a quote that says;” ambition is a path to success, persistence is the vehicle”.  

One thing I have observed with my generation is the tenacity, hunger and zeal we have for success. We’ll go any length to make our dreams a reality, which explains why the world is so competitive nowadays. In this fast moving revolution, I want to be the vehicle, which will translate dreams into presence. That is my very mission and the purpose which this blog will serve.
